I began my art practice by studying at the Nicolae Tonitza Fine Art School in Bucharest from 2011 to 2019. Later I pursued illustration at the University of the Arts London. My work involves a fusion of - ceramics, ready-mades, textiles, drawing, and stop-motion techniques - resulting in the creation of hybrid and fantastical beings.
The artistic vision I use, offers an unconventional perspective on real-world socio-political issues, seeking to integrate the non-human (animals and plants) and the "other" through the use of monsters as symbols of complexity and diversity. My approach is aimed at transgressing the multiple layers of meaning inherent in what we conventionally call a singular thing, illuminating the profound interconnectivity between all beings.
I am drawing inspiration from childhood animistic beliefs, folklore, and ecology to give shape to the ephemeral, resulting in a realm that explores complex emotions such as fear, sadness, and feminine sensibility through automatic art-making.
